Constructability Reviews

SCEE is often engaged by EPCMs and clients in the Iron Ore, Gold and LNG markets to conduct constructability reviews that utilises our construction personnel with extensive electrical and instrumentation construction knowledge. Our engagement creates the best value when employed early in the design stages of projects.

A constructability review is an independent review of the construction plans and specifications and is typically performed to determine and improve the construction plans and specifications in order to mitigate on-site problems from occurring. Our evaluations consist of safety, quality, productivity, schedule and project cost.

Its purpose is to ensure that the construction drawings and specifications are adequate, from the contractor’s point of view, in order to prepare a bid, and construct the project. Because the constructability review is performed to ensure adequacy of contract documents for the purpose of preparing bids and constructing the project, the review is best performed by construction professionals rather than design professionals. On the other hand, when construction personnel are involved early in the design stages, a sense of teamwork is developed, which should continue through the construction phase.
